Page of Wands

Upright — the student of the suit, the message arriving

Fire arrives today as a spark, not a blaze — small enough to hold in one hand, hot enough to change the shape of your hours. Something reaches you: a word, an invitation, a sudden appetite for a thing you have never tried. The Page does not ask you to be good at it. He asks you to begin badly, in daylight, where others can see. That is the cost — you trade your competence for a beginner's clumsy joy, and the trade is rarely comfortable. But fire spreads by contact, never by caution. Let the message land. Answer it while it is still warm.

Reversed — the news ignored, the lesson skipped

Fire arrives today as a spark you have already decided not to follow. Something small and bright keeps knocking — an idea half-written, a name you meant to answer, a road you glimpsed and filed away. Reversed, the young flame of the wands turns inward and burns without moving; the messenger stands at your door reading the letter to himself. The gift is the ember's patience: nothing is lost, only postponed, and you may still open the envelope by evening. The cost is that postponement has weight, and a lesson skipped tends to circle back wearing a heavier coat. Notice what you keep almost beginning.
