Upright — the spark handed to you
Today the root of fire is placed in your open palm — not a blaze, a seed of one. Something small and bright arrives: an idea at the sink, a name that will not leave you, the sudden wish to begin. This is the sky's first ember, the moment before the constellation has a shape. Take it as it comes; sparks do not wait to be understood. The cost is plain — a spark asks for tending, and tending asks your hours, your attention, the comfort of leaving things unstarted. You may carry it a single step further before dark. That step is enough.
Reversed — the spark smothered
The root of fire draws inward today — the ember banked beneath ash, warm but unwitnessed. Something in you has an idea it will not say aloud, or a flame it keeps cupped against the wind of other people's opinions. This is not the death of the spark. It is the spark kept underground, where roots live, where heat does its slow work unseen. The gift: nothing is spent, nothing is wasted on the wrong audience. The cost: the waiting aches, and enthusiasm held too long can forget its own shape. Feed the coal something small. Let it be enough.
